Paxil’s progress and other antidepressants depend on the nature of the illness. For those with panic disorders, studies show that after ten to twelve weeks, positive effects are viable.

The newest SSRI in the market is Vilazodone Viibryd, just approved by the US FDA last January 21, 2011 after clinical test show positive results. Side effects are mild to moderate in intensity and it doesn’t cause significant sexual dysfunction and weight gain compared to other antidepressants like Paxil.
